17 Again

Yes it's true, yesterday I celebrated another 17th birthday, complete with lots of unhealthy food and R rated movies. Only it wasn't my birthday I was celebrating it was my sisters. I don't have many pictures from the night but I wore my new Senso boots (which I'm in love with) so I though I'd share a couple from the night. Peep the pictures below.

In other news, I can't wait to move into my new apartment in the city. Only downside is I won't have internet right a way. Womp womp womp. I know, I'll miss you too but I be back as soon a possible.

Show and Tell: Fall Footwear

In honor of fall and the latest style tip I thought I'd share a few of my fall favorites.

I love the color and texture in the Matiko and Topshop ankle boots. Of course leopard is still very much in, and the Steve Madden leopard print loafers are perfect for everyday. But my absolute favorite are the Senso ankle boots; so simple but the cut-out and zipper detail at the ankle are to die for. And they remind me of the Alexander Wang Kori Chain boots, so needless to say I just couldn't help myself and bought a pair this morning. Just for clarification I mean the Senso boots not the Alexander Wang boot.  Although if I could I would get both. If there's one think to never skimp on it's shoes. Write that one down in your notebooks.

Really though I'm not kidding. Write it. Remember it. Live by it.

SSStyle Tip: Put Your Best Foot Forward

It's a question we've asked ourselves time and time again.

"Which came first the chicken or the egg?" Just kidding. That's not the question.  The real question at hand is much more serious, not one that should be taken lightly. Are you ready for it? No really. I can't hear you. Are. You. Ready?! Drum roll please, the question is...

"What shoes will I wear today?"

Yes you heard me. Well I guess technically you didn't hear me. But you read that right. Yes. That's the phrase I was looking for. Anyway, this is probably the most important, you'll ask yourself when getting dresses.  Now while I recognize there are some of people out there that would rather go barefoot than wear shoes, but I am not one of them. I repeat. I am not one of those girls. Please ignore my smiling face.

Shoes are my one true obsession ( no really I've had dreams about shoes before. Don't judge.)  and I truly believe they can make or break and outfit. Not to mention you can tell a lot about a person just by looking at their shoes. Which is why Soft Spoken Style tip 4 is so important.

Tip 4: (Always) Put Your Best Foot Forward

Or in this case, shoes!

(Shoes: Plomo Shoes)

(Shoes: Nike)

(Shoes: Jeffery Campbell)

(Shoes:Sam Edelman)

(Shoes: Dolce Vita for Target)

(Shoes: Bakers)

So tell me, What do my shoe's say about me? All nice things I'm sure, I do try to take good care of them.
I can't wait to get some new fall babies to join the gang. I definitely have my eye on a few. What shoes are on your fall wish list?

Northern Light

"If you could have the full wardrobe of any blogger (no substitutions or edits) who would it be?"

This is a question I came across a few weeks ago and I had the hardest time choosing...but then it hit me like a spotlight. No wait. Make that Northern Light.

I"m so down for minimalism it's not even funny. She had me at Celine.
Who would you choose?

Beauty Bag

I've never considered myself much of a beauty buff. I actually don't know much at all when it comes to beauty. I have no set beauty routine, I'm not at all brand loyal; I guess you could say,  I'm a "less is more" kinda girl. And lazy, actually I'm more lazy than anything. Anyway a few days ago I stumbled upon an amazing, fairly new, beauty blog called, Into The Gloss. I literally spent the entire labor day weekend reading through every single post. Really...Every. Single. Post. After reading a years worth of blog posts regarding product reviews, peeks backstage at fashion shows , and countless interviews with industry insiders regarding there beauty regimen and inspirations; I think it goes without saying, Emily Weiss, you've got me inspired.

To make sure I start off on the right foot, on my new found road to beauty (which I am defining as a healthier, happier, better moisturized me), I decided to go trough my beauty bag and pic out a few things I consider necessities.

 (Bag: Urban Outfitters)

Staring with the face, first we have Smashbox Primer Photo Finish Light, which keeps me from getting oily and shiny when I have on concealer and foundation. It also helps to stop me from breaking out. Then I use Stila Perfecting concealer which does an amazing job covering up any unwanted spots I may have on my face.  Lastly just this past weekend I picked up this blush made by Flirt!. It's there Peek-a-Blush in Carmel Belle, a really nice soft peachy pink that adds a really nice glow to your face.

Moving onto eyes, if they're are two things I always do (since 7th grade) before I leave the house it's, put on eyeliner and mascara. The eyeliner is Maybelline Define-a-Line in Ebony black,it's my first time using the liner so I can't say much about it, but it does make a good first impression. The mascara, which also happens to be the first time I've used it, is CoverGirl's Lash Exact. My first impressions...I've had better.

Last but not least the lip. I've never been one to wear anything on my lips except lip balm. I have pretty full lips so I never really liked the way color came across on my face. It just always looked liked too much, so I stick with Burt's Bees Lip Balm. Pretty inexpensive and doesn't make my lips feel greasy. I also love the tingly feeling it gives my lips, the only negative, there's no SPF. Even though, I pretty much know I don't like color on my lips I decided that I would give it one last try. While I was out this weekend getting blush I came across this lipstick by Flirt!. The color is called Energy, and it's a really beautiful orange. With orange being my favorite color I knew I had to get it. I have yet to  really wear it, so you'll have to wait on the review for that one.

Thanks to ITG I have a whole list of product I'm dying to try, but what about you? What are your must haves? Or what products have you been dying to try? Please Share!

Show And Tell: (Jump)suits

About six months from now I'll be working in my first ever full time day job. Yep. That's right. I'll be clockin' that good ol' nine to five. Even sooner than that I'll be interviewing for said gig and as scary as that sounds...I actually think I am more excited than scared.

Well, that was until it was suggested to me and my peers that we wear a business suit for interviews. As you can image my excitement flew out the windows. No. Not even, it didn't even get a chance to fly out. It was shot right then and there. Practically announced dead at the scene. Now, while it's true, said professor who suggested the idea is on the older side and therefore her advice might be outdated. Part of me couldn't help but to wonder, Could she be right?

Now for those of you who haven't actually read my "About me", I have two words for you. Shame Shame. Alright so that's only one word. Repeated twice. Sue me. Just kidding, don't do that. Because what I really have for you is a brief synopsis of what it says, and I quote: " I am a fashion design and merchandising major and one day I will be an editor and wear pretty pretty clothes to work everyday. i.e. no business suits.

Okay so it may not have said that exactly, but you get the gist. I never in my 19 years of living, could foresee myself working a job where I had to wear a business suit. So naturally, I found a loophole...

...and what a glorious loophole it is. One that just so happens to be a perfect example of SSStyle Tip 3. I believe the kids now a day would call that a win. Make that an epic win.

(All jumpsuits from Asos)

Needless to say, at the mere site of these jumpsuits, my excitement has been fully restored.

But this story's not over yet....

...because that would be boring.

Just when I thought I got rid of the unwanted, I realized that wasn't what I wanted at all. I found a loophole to my loophole.

Confused? Don't worry I was confused at first too, but just feast your eyes on this.

(Suit: Asos)

A suit. Dare I say a business suit? Yes, I didn't believed it existed either. Yet it does, a chic business suit, in all it's trans-seasonal glory. And just like that my mind has been changed. Every girl needs a suit in her closet. Especially this girl and this suit.
